The Turcot Interchange is a freeway interchange within the city of Montreal that links highways 15, 20, and 720. It takes its name from the currently-abandoned Turcot rail yards where it is built over and the bridge is part of a viaduct measuring approximately 80 m. The structure is made out of a basic steel structure and it is very straight.
Aim of monitoring:
To measure the extension of cracks with 33 MuST deformation sensors with an additional 16 temperature sensors for thermal compensation. Also,to monitor the maximum amount of bending and any deformations to its shape.
Main results:
Static measuring of cracks and dynamic measuring of bending.
